apanese wood sculptor haroshi specializes in creating three-dimensional art pieces
from used and broken skateboard decks.

although haroshi uses one type of material for his art, skate decks vary widely in size
and structure depending on the factory, brand and model. in creating his sculptures,
he filters through thousands of old decks and individually picks out the perfect board to use.
after they are stacked, cut and shaved to form, they are painted and polished to a
candy-like finish.

Minjae Lee

Minjae Lee is a self-taught artist.. At only 19 years old, he's managed to express himself with a range of tools, from markers, pencils, crayons and collage cut outs... His work represents fashion with colour and life, and the innocence behind the models eyes. Viewers are drawn into his characters through their powerful eyes of sadness and fear... Although his work isn't super famous yet, he is being noticed globally by blogs and websites... so we'll see what happens :)

This movie by Scottish artist Geoff Mann of Studio*Mrmann represents an argument between unseen characters as ripples that distort objects across a dining table. Mann has also created a series of tableware and cutlery apparently distorted by these ripples of sound.

netherland based architect michael schoner has developed 'A3 animals'.
these paper masks are
made from A3 sized sheets which can be folded into an animal mask and is held together
by ordinary office materials: staples and rubber bands. these templates are downloadable
in pdf format, printable from any office machine and can be duplicated in mass quantities.
they are available with a rasterized xerox style patterns which plays with the geometric
shapes both in its folded and unfolded state.

schoner intentionally did not add holes for these masks helping to keep the emphasis on
the geometric patterns themselves. users are given the title of 'paper-shamans' who are meant
to emotionally connect to the animal. eventually as the mask are taken off, these 'native office
artifacts' much like the animals they represent, decay after a short lifespan in the wastepaper basket.

-Japanese designer and conceptual artist sakurako shimizu creates jewelry primarily

from gold and silver. for her 'waveform' series she created wedding rings by recording
parts of the ceremony and laser cut out the sound wave. also included in the series are
necklaces and brooches created using sounds of people yawning and laughing.
